I Don’t Want to Live on a Leash

So often in life we are troubled by fears that make us want to hide…a medical report; a job change;
financial stress; relationship issues; kids who are rebellious; divorce; the unknown; getting older, etc. the list could go on and on. Many times we allow the circumstance to dictate our reaction instead of believing God is bigger than all of it. When we allow ourselves to drown in the sea of that kind of fear, it steals the very life we are meant to live out loud for the Lord. When we allow (I say allow because it is a choice how we react) to believe the lie that this is too much to bare…and we let the productivity of our life to stop…we are living on a leash made to hold us back from the gifts, talents and purpose God has for us for this day, this hour.

I don’t want to live on this leash. It’s one that confines me to my own thoughts and not that of the Lord. It confines me to figure things out on my own…when Jesus said, “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.” Proverbs 3:5-6 It confines me to let the enemy of my soul get the upper hand on my life, giving over the very life line I have in Christ.

I speak peace to your heart, soul and spirit today. “Fear not for I am with you. Do not anxiously look about you for I am your God. Surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 Let go of the leash…look to Him and not the circumstances. There is freedom and rest in His deliverance for you.
